Forgoing The Commonplace, Hello Ubuntu!

In Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal aka, the command prompt (shell), type: lsb_release -a Voila!  The output will look something like: No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID:    Ubuntu Description:    Ubuntu 8.04 Release:    8.04 Codename:    hardy There you have it, my first meaningful Ubuntu tip/information tidbit.  -Pats self on back.
