About Me

As I touched on in my first post, I´ve been in online business since 1995, quite a long time.  During this time my position has been from company director, to COO to marketing with emphasis on marketing.  During my early years I had shell access to my Linux (Unix, who even knows what flavors).  I learned the basics of using the shell command prompt, but have far from mastered it.  Other than this basic knowledge of the Linux command prompt (shell prompt?) I have used Windows operating system my whole adult life. I don´t know how these operating systems (linux, ubuntu, debian, *nix, windows, mac) even work, I just know how to use them for what I need them for.

This here blog is my personal journey in discovering a new way to work, a new idealogy.  Open source.  It just feels better knowing that someone may have (not always, many open source companies are worth hundreds of millions) made this program out of passion, from his heart, in his spare time.  I like being grateful to someone for creating the programs and now the OS that I´m using.  It´s not that I´m cheap, I own tons of expensive Windows OS software.

Moreover, with this blog I hope to learn more about Ubuntu and how it works.  By posting gripes and problems I don´t understand, I hope I will feel silly for posting I have no solution, when surely there´s a way to find out.  Hopefully, I will take this shame and go find the solution, then post it on the blog for you to learn what I did.

Don´t expect this blog to be a comprehensive tutorial for Ubunto operating system, but more of tidbits of information that I find out through my follies of messing things up with Ubuntu.

Please comment if you have a better way, a better link, or a similar problem.  Hell, even comment if you´re having a problem that you can´t find information on, then maybe I´ll try to make it my problem and we can fumble through the learning pains of learning a new operating system.

Your friend,

Kevin
